Eat Out To Help Out Scheme Staffordshire (Rugeley & Surrounding Areas)

Staffordshire, UK
Eat Out To Help Out Scheme
It isn't long until the new Eat Out to Help Out scheme which is an incentive bought out by the Government to help boost the economy and help businesses get back on their feet after being hit hard during the pandemic and having to close indefinitely. This is done by restaurants, pubs and coffee houses offering 50% discount, maximum £10 per diner (food and non-alcoholic drinks only). The rest is then subsidised by the government, meaning that you do not have to do a thing!
From Monday 3rd August until Monday 31st August every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday you will be able to receive discount from any business that has registered with the scheme and you can find a list of businesses here that have registered in your area, you just need to type in your postcode for a list of businesses that have registered so far.

There is no set amount of times that you can visit an establishment, so you are allowed to make as many visits that you require, turn up at any time you like and enjoy any meal of your choosing, it is as easy as that.

How does the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme work?

The Eat Out to Help Out scheme basically incentivises people to eat out at restaurants, pubs and coffee houses during the quieter days of the week to help boost the business where they have lost out due to Covid-19 and hopefully allowing the hospitality industry to recover from the downfall.

So what does this entail?

Here is a bit of information you will want to know about the scheme:
  • You will receive up to 50% discount on food or non-alcoholic drinks to eat in or drink in at any registered establishment of your choosing. This is up to a maximum of £10 discount per customer.
  • This will be on the quieter days of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday between 3rd August and 31st August.
  • There is not a set limit of how many times you can visit an establishment, so you can visit as many times as you like.
  • All diners of any group size can attend and receive the discount.

Is a voucher required?

No voucher is required when attending a registered establishment, you just order your food as and when and the discount will automatically be applied to your bill. But please note that any alcoholic beverages are not included in the discount. The establishment then can claim the reimbursement from the government.

Participating establishments may include:

  • restaurants, caf├ęs, bars or pubs
  • work and school canteens
  • food halls

Can I still use discounts/offers as well?

Any discounts or offers that you would have otherwise would have used before will still count on top of the 50% discount offered. So any blue light cardholders, NHS cardholders, etc are able to get their extra discount on top of what is offered, making your meal even cheaper, how fab is that!

You can find all the information regarding the scheme on the gov.uk website.

Staffordshire is quite a vast area, so I have included the local towns and cities surrounding my hometown of Rugeley, otherwise, this post would have gone on for days. I have included the small and independent companies as they need help more than the bigger businesses at the moment. If you do however would like to see a list of the chain restaurants that are included, you can find more information on the gov.uk website.

Will you be taking part in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme?
